Our team partnered with Jacobs Glass on this project where we participated in both the preconstruction and construction phases of the 13 story surgical tower located in Asheville, NC. The 13 story tower includes 220 new patient beds, 44 intensive care unit rooms, and 176 acute care rooms. The project also includes a 79 bay emergency department, 94 prep/recovery exam rooms, 10 operating rooms, 6 catheterization labs, 4 radiology rooms, 40 post-anesthesia care unit bays, and a rooftop helipad. Our scope included fabricating and installing the Kawneer ultra-thermal exterior curtain wall, aluminum sun-control elements, and entrances. Our preconstruction team took a proactive approach and decided to preassemble and glaze the punched openings to minimize manpower on site, improve quality, and reduce safety risk associated with working from such heights. This project was recognized by ENR as being the best project in Health Care 2020.

We're proud partners of Graham-Hodge Associates on this project. Our teams participated in both the preconstruction and construction phases and the entire concept was centered around TRUST. Both Robins & Morton and the EBCI selected to go with an integrated project delivery (IPD), meaning ALL trade partners shared equally in the risk/reward of the projects success. The result led to a completion date 92 days ahead of schedule and $7MM under budget. Our scope included conceptual estimates and schedule development (napkin sketch image below), with cost control and schedule updates at specific milestones throughout the project. Our team provided site management and support services necessary to install the Oldcastle BE, curtain wall, storefront, custom decorative aluminum elements, as well as the crown "feather." Our team installed the interior storefront, ICU windows, glass hand-rails, and other interior and exterior aluminum accents. This was a one of a kind project that we'll forever be grateful for participating in.
